NFL cornerback Logan Ryan inking his new contract to play for the Tennessee Titans.

NFL cornerback Logan Ryan announced via Instagram that he has paid off his older brother’s student loan debt in full.

Ryan’s older brother was held back by $82,000 in student loan debt after graduating college. On his birthday, he received the best present possible when Logan Ryan handed him an oversized check worth $82,000, paid to the order of American Education Services.

In his Instagram caption, Ryan took the opportunity to recognize his brother’s achievements, while also criticizing the student loan system.

“My man got accepted to college, graduated with honors, and now works as an engineer. He did everything the right way and still lives with a ridiculous amount of student loan debt. The system is broke and makes no sense!!”

This is not the first time Logan Ryan has displayed his generosity on Instagram. Each month, Ryan posts pictures on the site of rescue dogs in the attempt to find them a home. Additionally, he and his wife encouraged their wedding guests to donate to an animal shelter in lieu of giving them gifts.

A New App Can Help Student Borrowers Pay Down Their Loans Faster

This past offseason, Logan Ryan signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Tennessee Titans, according to Bleacher Report. He had previously played four seasons with the New England Patriots before the new deal.

Not all student debtors are as lucky as Logan Ryan’s older brother. According to The Student Loan Report, more than 44 million borrowers owe a combined $1.41 trillion in student loans. The average borrower holds $27,857 in student loan debt.
